An essential no one talks about
When someone asks you, what are your life essentials, you are quite likely to say – food, water, shelter, may be caffeine ( just me? okay… ) but it’s unlikely that you will mention something like books, a good film, a fashion icon, etc. Of course for the most plain of lives the things above are sufficient, but for those of us lucky enough to have a right to live a life how we want and choose what we want to do, there is one essential that we always fail to mention – that is inspiration.
If your life isn’t going too smooth at the moment, you need an inspiration of a hard-working figure who doesn’t give up no matter what hardships come their way. If you are aspiring to a particular profession, perhaps a well-known figure in that world would be someone you strive to be. Or may be you aspire to be a little bit or a lot like your mum, because you want your children to be just as lucky as you have been.
My point is, we all need inspiration and here are a couple reasons why that might be so:
- Inspiration gives us something to strive towards. Whilst sometimes we may not have the clearest goal in our head of what it is exactly that we want, having a rough idea and having someone to look up to can go a really long way at helping someone to decide what we want in life. It is hard not to imagine a career that doesn’t have a role model in it, and I think it wouldn’t be fair to say that we make choices without considering these hardworking and inspirational people within industries as something we would like to become one day.
- Inspiration also gives us a route to achieve those goals, so we are not left wandering around this world with no sense of direction. You may choose to follow a beaten path or you may want to put down one of your own, however knowing that if you ever get lost there is a way out can give you confidence to be brave. As far as I am aware, the best decisions I have made was when I was brave. So go get ’em, tiger!
- Inspiration provides us with the little things to make life that little bit easier on the day to day basis. I am lucky enough to be blessed with amazing parents and a boyfriend who takes care of me when I fail to do so myself, so whenever I am stressed a small cup of tea, a hug or anything like that can be so reassuring and go such a long way. If you take one thing from this post, go and hug someone you love who you know is struggling with something right now. Go show ’em you care and that you believe in them!
Do you find inspiration important in your personal life, and who are your personal role models?
P.S. I blog twice a week now so please come back for a new post on Thursday 🙂
